Why Hydrogen?

Hydrogen is the only fuel on Earth that when oxidized (burned) or inserted into a Hydrogen Fuel Cell to make DC electricity, goes back from where it came from…WATER.

Yes that is the Physics of Using Hydrogen to heat our homes, melt Steel and other metals and run our cars, trucks, trains ships and airplanes.

The most important fact about Hydrogen is that the physics of Hydrogen is that it can be split from WATER and then when used for generating heat or electricity it goes back to WATER with no other byproducts released into the atmosphere.

SO HOW CAN WE GET HYDROGEN?

Hydrogen can be split from water by simply applying a Direct  Electric Current to WATER. This process is called Electrolyzation  or some call it electrolysis of Water.

The equipment that does this is called an Electrolyzer.

Sounds simple and it is but the key is to use Electricity derived from non polluting sources like, Hydro electric, Solar and Wind turbines(*), Geo thermal and yes even Nuclear in the short term.

(*) Some carbon is released in the manufacturing of these two forms At the moment. But Over their life span it’s allot less then burning fossil fuels.

So once we have enough  Hydrogen all our process , domestic and industrial will be pollution free.

Where is The Hydrogen Economy Now?

Hydrogen Production and use is Growing rapidly.

Okney a small Island of the coast of Scotland has been running on Hydrogen for over two Years now.

They produce the electricity by a turbine that uses the tidal currents just off shore.
